The Formora Form Builder Interface - Design, Configure, and Launch
Understanding the Builder Interface
The Form Builder is typically divided into a few key areas:1. Field Toolbox
1. Field Toolbox
Located on the left side, the Field Toolbox contains all the available input fields and layout elements you can add to your form. This includes:
- Text Inputs (single line, paragraph, email, URL, etc.)
- Numerical Inputs (number, slider)
- Date & Time Pickers
- Choice Fields (radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns)
- File Uploads
- Layout Elements (headings, paragraphs, dividers, page breaks for multi-page forms)
- Advanced Inputs (ratings, signature, payment fields - if applicable) You simply drag an element from the toolbox and drop it onto the form canvas.

2. Form Canvas / Preview Area
2. Form Canvas / Preview Area
The central area is your form canvas. This is where you visually construct your form by arranging the fields you drag from the toolbox. The canvas provides a live, interactive preview of how your form will look to end-users.
You can select fields on the canvas to edit their properties, reorder them by dragging, or delete them.
3. Properties Panel
3. Properties Panel
When you select the form itself (e.g., by clicking its title or background) or any specific field on the canvas, the Properties Panel (usually on the right) becomes active. This panel is contextual and displays all the settings and customization options for the selected item:
- For Fields: Label, placeholder text, help text, validation rules (required, min/max length, format), default values, conditional visibility, styling options, etc.
- For the Form: Form title, description, layout (single-page, multi-page), theme/styling, submission settings (success message, redirect URL), notifications, integrations, etc.

4. Top Bar Actions
4. Top Bar Actions
Across the top of the builder, you’ll find essential action buttons:
- Save: Saves your current progress on the form design and settings.
- Publish/Unpublish: Toggles the live status of your form. Published forms are accessible online.
- Preview: Opens a full-screen preview of your form as users will see it, often allowing for test submissions without saving data.
- Share/Embed: Provides access to the direct link and embed codes for your form.
- Form Settings: Often a shortcut to the form-level properties in the right-hand panel.
